The good news for the Maryland Terrapins is that they defeated Florida Atlantic going away to raise their record to 8-3 and distance themselves against winter mid-major meltdowns of the past.
The bad news, they got out-rebounded by a much smaller team.
The good news is that Cliff Tucker contributed 11 points in the win and looked [...]

Testudo Times has put together some of the best moments of the year from Maryland Terrapins basketball, lacrosse and football. Most of the world is partial to the Dave Neal screen on Duke guard and PG native Nolan Smith.
Can’t say that I’m not in that group.

Now, is this any way to treat the guys responsible for Gary Williams’ tossed blazers?
Keith Booth and Robert Ehsan are the only men’s assistants among Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech who have guaranteed annual compensation of less than $100,000, according to the report. The men’s assistants [...]

Kenpom is a fancy pythagorean-calculative program that projects the wins for college basketball teams. Independent of sweaty blazers, argumentative guards and failed Princeton offenses, it uses stats and trends to measure what it team is likely to do with the rest of its season, and spits out a magic record.

Interesting take from Testudo Times about the Under Armour apparel brand and its impact on Maryland recruiting. The question: are high school athletes swayed by branding, and can Maryland compete with its exclusive UA agreement?

What Maryland Terrapins athletic director Debbie Yow calls ’synergy’ with retained head football coach Ralph Friedgen, most observers would call savings. Not just of sparse public funds that pay his salary, but in her effort to save her own job.
It’s one thing to keep Friedgen around because his firing would have been a matter of [...]

A few weeks ago, a Maryland Terrapins squad with more talent was soundly beaten by a more-athletic Cincinnati Bearcats squad, mostly because Gary Williams stubbornly stayed in an ineffective full-court press.
Last night against Indiana, Williams turned it off and allowed his perimeter defenders to turn it on in a zone defense. The result? A solid, [...]

Of course he stays. Financially and football-wise, there were very few places for Maryland to go other than Ralph Friedgen.
I will say that Friedgen would be wise to pilfer an assistant or two away from the University of Texas or the University of Florida. The Terrapins have to get a lot bigger on both [...]

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has fully integrated himself into the local sports scene. He enjoys rocking the red for the Caps and the Terps, even if it means his face gets booed on the Jumbotron.
But Harbaugh’s family ties will have Terps fans in knots tonight, because he will be cheering on his brother-in-law Tom Crean [...]
