If so, good for them. If you can get a former teammate of Koji Uehara’s that has three-quarters of the talent and double the durability, the rotation would be so much better off in 2010.

If Koji Uehara was destined to have hamstring soreness, why couldn’t it have come against a meaningful opponent like the Yankees or Red Sox? It had to come against the Washington Nationals, in a series that exceeded expectations, but was lame nonetheless.

There is certain finality to the Orioles struggles despite the mastery of Koji Uehara on the mound. On the one hand, the team is beginning to turn the tide on what appeared to be a solid season, embracing the mediocrity that has solidly replaced Orioles magic over the last few years.

The Baltimore Orioles have signed Koji Uehara to a two-year, $10 million dollar deal. Uehara, 34, was a closer last season for the Yomiuri Giants, but the right-hander will likely start for the Birds.
