Explain to me how the Washington Nationals give up a guy, only for him to make the roster of your opening day opponent and receive a curtain call after a 4-5 day that included an inside-the-park home run.

Seriously, is there a more harrowing tale of inadequate play and disengaged fans than the Washington Nationals? Not for my money. The Washington Wizards, the down years of the Washington Redskins, even the Baltimore Orioles can’t come close to the 2008 Nats.
You have to go into Mike Tyson, Len Bias territory to find a sadder [...]
