Not that he needs that much help, because Daniel Snyder has already done such a fine job of it. But if Snyder is going to fire Jim Zorn, it will cost him much more than the remaining terms of the contract. It’s going to cost him players, fans, and likely, league-wide respectability, if there was such [...]

Bill Parcells famously said that you are what your record says you are, and no truer words have ever been spoken. But in Washington, one of the things that makes local sports so agonizingly painful to root for is that talent doesn’t always meet coaching, which usually doesn’t meet fan expectations.
And in the end, you [...]

To answer that question, you have to look at what you knew about both teams before the season started, and what we’ve learned thus far.

Not certain if anyone else was listening to Jim Zorn’s post game press conference, but if you were, perhaps you were also shocked about the revelations of Albert Haynesworth’s mother calling Jim Zorn to give her perspectives on injecting “fun” into game planning.
In sum, Zorn commented on speaking with Haynesworth mother during the week, and [...]

It’s hard to tell what is a sicker part of the entire Washington Redskins-Jim Zorn saga, the fact that Daniel Snyder is arrogant enough to publicly humiliate his head coach without firing him, or that Jim Zorn has enough resolve to stick it out for the money.
Obviously, Snyder’s foolishness has the staying power of ten [...]

What immediately comes to mind about Sherman Lewis calling plays for Washington is not if the offense will improve, or whether Jason Campbell will be included in the plans, or if he’ll be the interim when Zorn is fired in a few weeks.
It’s about how lucky he is to be working for this team.

I find myself starting to care less and less about the Washington NFL franchise. Sure, I enjoy waging my one-man campaign to bring down Daniel Snyder’s evil regime, but the more I want to feel bad for Jim Zorn, Jason Campbell and the rest of the squad, the more I discover that there is very [...]

In a shocking turn of events, several members of the Washington NFL franchise are publicly stating their desire for ownership to give head coach Jim Zorn a vote of confidence.
“I wish someone upstairs would just say he’s going to be our coach for the season,” said one of the players. “That way, we don’t [...]

It just occurred to me how bad and how meddling of an owner Daniel Snyder is. He’s recently brought in Sherman Lewis, former offensive coordinator under currently-unemployed coaching genius Mike Holmgren, as an offensive coordinator.
You would think that this would open the door for Holmgren, a proven guru at developing quarterbacks with great physical tools [...]

Maybe Washington is destined to bring other teams joy. It didn’t happen against Tampa Bay and St. Louis, both of which are in full sprint to 0-16, but the Detroit Lions and now the Carolina Panthers can celebrate the kindness of Daniel Snyder and the Family Dysfunctional.
Let’s start with the positives. It appears that the [...]
