To be fair, there are but a few scholarships allotted for any collegiate basketball program. So one or two guys not making the five-year mark on graduation can really bring a program under uninformed scrutiny.
But the Maryland Terrapins are consistently in the lowest percentile of graduation rates, and are consistently on the local media’s hit [...]

The ESPN/USA Today preseason top 25 would have you believe that four teams in the ACC are better than the Terrapins.
North Carolina, yes. Duke, possibly. Clemson and Georgia Tech? No way in the world.

Gary Williams, the much maligned coach of the Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team has received a one-year extension through 2013, the UMD athletic department announced today.
Williams’ current contract includes automatic extensions for achieving benchmark standards by the Terrapins both athletically and academically. This extension takes the term of his contract through June 30, 2013.

Maryland Terrapins basketball reeled in a big one today, receiving a commitment from four-star recruit Mychal Parker.
He’s got good size and good athleticism, which already puts him ahead of 98 percent of the Duke Blue Devils roster. Looks like Gary Williams didn’t take too kind to the bashing over the spring, and will exact [...]

The University of Maryland cut just over three percent of its athletic budget recently, which will result in a few more bus trips and a few less media guides for the athletic programs.
I can’t imagine that the football and men’s basketball staff will actually complain about taking buses to ACC games in Virginia and North [...]

A tip of the hat goes to Gary Williams for this scoop, but apparently, former Maryland Terrapin Steve Blake moonlights as a Good Samaritan when he’s not on the court.
You know, rescuing stranded hikers and visiting elderly Blazers fans.

Don’t be mistaken. Gary Williams would cheat if he could, because everybody else in the world is doing it.My initial thoughts after reading Steinz’ post on Williams’ tirade on ESPN 980’s “The Sports Reporters” about beloved coaches that cheat like crazy, was that Williams kind of got a bad rap. He can coach, he can [...]

The Maryland Terrapins and Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball teams are going to be good in 2009-10. Really good.

If you hadn’t heard, Gary Williams is on Twitter. And if you heard and didn’t care to follow, turns out Williams is quite the NBA Playoffs enthusiast.
Check out a few of his latest Tweets.
Impressed with the Mavs tonight. Refused to just go away quietly. Dirk really stepped up with 44 points. about 20 hours ago [...]

Baltimore Sun blogger Matt Bracken has the scoop on Lance Stephenson’s waffling and what it may mean for the Maryland Terrapins.
A lot of Terps faithful believe that Stephenson is a self-serving joke and has no business stepping onto a College Park campus. A one-and-done guy with deals lined up from here to Manhattan won’t fit [...]
