The Sun has put together a list of the top ten football players in Baltimore history. And aside from the glaring omission of Matt Stover, I have no problem with it.
What do you think?

What, was Mike Preston not interested in debating Dave Trembley’s future in PTI: The Charm City Edition’ ‘Faceoff?’

You have to hand it to Baltimore Sun columnist Mike Preston; he may hack his way through his work, but at least he can identify historic trends.
Take for example today’s offering on the Ravens’ need for the offensive line and quarterback Joe Flacco to step up. Were this 2005, it would be right on the [...]

For anyone who loves a sincere goodbye post from a career newspaper guy, you should check out Ray Frager’s farewell post for the Sun’s Medium Well sports media blog.
I took some shots at him, but he was a great blogger and I hope he emerges with a successful independent blogging venture.
BTW, the Baltimore Sun also [...]

Behold, the creative genius that is the Baltimore Sun in its coverage of Orioles fans reception of Mark Teixeira.
You see how clever that is? They played on Teixeira’s nickname in a way that subtley communicates text message! That’s journalism hotness, son.

The Baltimore Sun’s Rick Maese is normally a reliable voice on local sports, usually approaching topics with an honesty and candor rarely found in such a biased and shrinking-in-relevance newspaper.
But he got it wrong in this morning’s column on Brenda Frese being exposed as a poor in-game coach. A sample of the non-sense:
But the real [...]

Granted, the Associated Press wrote the original headline, but I’m sure the Baltimore Sun was more than happy to stick it to former Baltimore Orioles pitcher Erik Bedard and a story about his sore butt.
Innuendos pop into your mind in 5…4…3…2…

If you had to guess why an editor approved this photoshop for it’s Duke-Maryland coverage, what would you determine to be the most logical reason behind the image selection?

The jackass genius that is Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun presents a somewhat logical, yet overly-ornery case on what the Baltimore Ravens should pay team icon Ray Lewis. Unfortunately, like many of his arguments, its based in angst against the team and a misplaced sense of personal responsibility.
Let’s break down his stupidity, shall we?

With the gold medals draped loosely around their necks, and the global respect of basketball enthusiasts back in a choke hold, U.S.A. Basketball has restored faith and attention to the United States’ ability to compete in international basketball.
But one of its best players has not received the credit he has deserved from his hometown media. [...]
