Could the Wizards Be Moving on Down in the 2009 NBA Draft?

Washington Post writer Michael Lee seems to think that the recent slate of Wizards workout participants – Louisville forward Terrence Williams and Virginia guard and Metro native Mamadi Diane – indicates that the Wiz are thinking a trade down in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Could be good, could be bad. There are very few bad teams that are willing to take the pick in such a talent-thin draft, that are without a worthwhile pick. Could the Wizards be packaging a beloved veteran, and looking to downshift in age at a certain position?

These workouts seem to indicate that it would be Caron Butler. Only time will tell.

  1. Caron Butler?

He will NOT be traded this summer … 99.9%.

I concur. I just find it interesting that the Wizards are working out players they don’t really need.

Between Butler and McGuire, just doesn’t make sense.
