Welcome Back, Wild Thing Cabrera

Chico Harlan may hate sports writing, but I’ll be damned if he isn’t good at it. This is his lede for the write up on the Washington Nationals 9-4 self-inflicted drubbing at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Washington Nationals pitchers threw 173 baseballs in the general direction of home plate last night. During a 3-hour, 18-minute insult to accuracy, Washington’s pitchers walked 11 batters, pegged two and threw four wild pitches.
Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
But the star of last night’s blooper reel was Daniel Cabrera, a Baltimore Orioles castoff who won the Triple Crown of Pitching Fail last season, and was so erratic that at one point late in the season, his arm was examined for damage.
Finding none, the Nats thought him to be a key addition to their rotation.
Chico, I only wish I could know but an ounce of your suffering.
