  1. Chris Simms says:

I say forget that. Go after Anquan Boldin or even bring in Julius Peppers. Imagine the fear their D-line would put in opposing offenses with Haynesworth and Peppers on the same line!!!! Owens is a team destroyer. How many chances has he had??? He called Garcia gay in San Fran, he whined at McNabb in Philly when he wasn’t getting every ball thrown his direction, and he got pissed at Romo in “Big D” for not throwing him enough balls.

  2. JC says:

True, but considering that the Redskins have always been a traveling circus of free agent signings, what’s one more going to hurt?

Skins fans act like they are really going to boycott the team if they sign him. I can all but guarantee that his jersey would be the Number 1 seller if the Skins pick him up.

  3. James says:

Wow, what a horrid idea. I’m not saying I’d boycott the Skins but the logic that “we’ve signed a bunch over overpaid, overrated, aging vets in the past that have been total disasters, we may as well keep on doing it” is asinine. That’s called throwing good money after bad. The ONLY way a TO signing would be palatable is if a) it’s a 2 year deal so that when he inevitably implodes we can jettison him without serious cap ramifications and b) it’s a low-base salary, incentive laden deal that will keep him motivated to perform and not be a distraction. Throwing s-loads of cash at him just because he’s TO would just be a repeat of past failures.

  4. JC says:

I completely get your point. Mine is not so much that since the Redskins have always done it, they should do it again. My point is that if there was ever a team in need of somebody like him, age, insanity and all, its the Redskins.

A two-year deal seems about right for someone with his track record. Especially since someone like the Giants could sneak in and get him on the cheap to replace Plaxico Burress.

  5. James says:

It might be a moot point regardless as ESPN is reporting that it’s a resounding “No on T.O.” from both the Giants and Redskins front offices. Owens will have to look elsewhere to find a bridge that has been burnt to a cinder apparently…

  6. JC says:

But can you REALLY believe the Snyder-Cerrato connection on this one? They said the same thing about Jason Taylor in the early rumor stages.

  7. [...] wore No. 81 when he was a Raider. Next best odds lie with the Redskins at 4/1, and that seems to be the early blog consensus as well. Then we have the Jets (6/1) and the Buccaneers, Patriots and Titans at 13/2. I’m rooting for [...]

  8. cameron says:

really to is better than all our wrs together

  9. Tim says:

Only way TO has a chance to get into fed ex field if he’s interested in selling popcorn. He’s already got the sales pitch “get your popcorn ready”

  10. James says:

Snyder-Cerrato said “No to T.O” 3 years ago and meant it. So yeah, when they say they have no interest it strikes me as being true. And with Taylor, we really didn’t have any interest during the early rumor stages: that trade was born of last minute desperation when Daniels went down for the year in training camp. He stays healthy and I guarantee you that we still have our second round pick this year.

  11. JC says:

Well, as much as Zorn needs the pass to be successful, and considering the options outside of Moss, I still say it could happen.

Besides, I really don’t believe Danny is THAT much over signing stars. They likely didn’t sign him before because Joe Gibbs vetoed it.

  12. Jebus says:

You should lose blogging rights for one year for this post. Terrible. TO on the Skins would destroy this team….we need to build youth…give our drafted WRs a chance. TO was on Philly so long ago nothing he provides us could help. We’ve owned the Cowboys the last 2 years…do your homework kid.

  13. Mark says:

If T.O. becomes a Washington Redskin I’ll become a “COWGIRLS FAN”..

  14. JC says:

What does owning the Cowboys have to do with needing help at the receiver position? Your draft picks didn’t work. There’s no guarantee that they will work out this season.
