Ravens To Sign L.J. Smith
We knew that the Baltimore Ravens were eyeing a tight end, possibly to be found in the draft. But now the word is that the Ravens have agreed in principle to a one-year contract with former Philadelphia Eagles tight end L.J. Smith.
Initially, it looks like a replacement for Todd Heap, who had a diminished role in last year’s offense. But when you consider the injuries that have annually occurred with Heap and backups Quinn Sypnieweski, it’s a logical move for the short term, that could work in the long run.
