Terrell Suggs is Down for the Ravens’ Hometown Discount

They can stay together. They want to stay together.
That’s the word from Terrell Suggs on the fate of he and the other members of the Baltimore Ravens defensive core of linebackers, and if its true that they don’t want to leave and are just waiting for the franchise to do the right thing, then it looks like Ravens faithful have nothing to worry about.
“We’ve already seen one of our other brothers [linebacker Adalius Thomas] walk. We really don’t want to see too many more of us walk away from the city of Baltimore. Hopefully we all can stay, definitely, on a home discount.”
Now that’s what you want to hear from a star player on a team filled with defensive stars. Not just that they like the city, but that they understand the financial nuances of keeping the team intact. Each of them – Ray Lewis, Bart Scott and Terrell Suggs knows they can command top dollar from a team looking to build a defense around them. But they know they are much more of a force together than they are apart.
So rather than being wooed up the road by a team like the Redskins, they’d like to keep it in the family and win a title, a goal that is definitely achievable with their re-signing and the continued improvement of Joe Flacco and the Ravens’ offense.
They’ll still be rich. The defense will still be great. And we’ll all be jolly friends forever more.
