Releasing Terrell Owens = Taking Shots at Redskins Front Office
Here’s an interesting post by blog boss and Utah skiing enthusiast Chris Mottram, who bemoans fan talk about team chemistry in light of the news that Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens might be cut. Oh, and free of charge, there’s also a shot at the Washington Redskins front office.
“Are we going to continue to allow talent to outweigh everything else in the decisions we make with players and putting the roster together? We’re like the Redskins used to be when they signed every player they wanted. There’s more to it than talent. It has to be more about the team. The big one [Owens] didn’t get discussed yet, but I’m sure it will and real hard.”
Whilst Mottram and I do not agree on the viability of players airing out their teammates and organizations to the media, we do agree on two facts. Fans can’t be certain about anything that goes on in a locker room, and the Redskins front office has made free agency into an annual game of drunk Monopoly.
