Everybody Hates Mark Teixeira
The New York Yankees finally introduced their precious home run golden calf yesterday, and he promptly took a bite out of the Big Apple and spat the peel in the faces of Baltimore Orioles fans. Even going so far as to taunt the hometown team of his youth, Mark Teixeira talked about his love for the New York Yankees even while watching Orioles games in person.
“My dad would take me to O’s games and I’d wear a Yankees hat, which wasn’t too safe in Baltimore back in the ’80s. But it was worth it. There’s something about being a Yankee, no where you are there are Yankees fans, and I’m glad to be a Yankee today.”
Now why you gotta go and do that, Big T? It’s your right to sign with the most hated team in America, and to not sign with one of the most poorly managed teams in America. If I were you, I would’ve pulled the same move.
But throwing it in the faces of the Orioles fans? That just ain’t right. We know there won’t be enough of us booing to drown out the cheers of Yankee fans when you next visit Camden Yards, but they will be loud enough for you to know that you are dead to us.
