Countdown to the Implosion of the Washington Wizards

Gilbert’s getting random tattoos, the entire team is allergic to defensive rotations, and the lone bright spot among Wizards bloggers is the ups of JaVale McGee.

They haven’t won a game, and the only time they’ve been close to winning was the fourth-quarter lead they blew on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Washington Wizards are in dire straits, and its not for a lack of direction or leadership.

Its just the innate need for change in the locker room and on the floor.

How much longer before Eddie Jordan’s public tirade? Before Nick Young comments on his lack of minutes in spite of great production? With Antawn Jamison already classifying the next game against the Utah Jazz as a “must-win” how much longer will it be before things finally fall apart with this score-now, laugh hard gang?

Youth is on their side. The city is on their side. And though they play with heightened expectations of seasons past, the roster has confronted adversity enough to know how to get the job done. They’ve played without Gilbert before. They’ve competed without all of their weapons.

And yet, despite a healthy stock of core talent on the perimeter, they are the WMDs of the NBA.

It won’t be long, folks. Something is going to give with this squad, and it won’t be pretty.
