Where Are the Caps in Eastern Motors Commercials?
Maybe members of the Washington Capitals don’t get the whole ghetto-fabulousness of a car dealership extending credit on the basis of employment. Perhaps Alex Ovechkin just doesn’t have enough dip in his hip to be an effective spokesperson for Eastern Motors.
But given the recent success of the Caps, they’ve more than earned the right to dance around in low-budget dealership spots that are a staple of the local marketing industry.
Think about it. If a dealership promotes Fords, Hummers, Chevys, Beamers and mini-vans, wouldn’t you want a team with members that are likely to drive each of those cars? To my knowledge, not a Wizard or a Redskin has pulled up into the players parking lot in a mini-van, but I guarantee you someone on the Caps drives one.
Besides, Eastern Motors could stand a little more diversity in its spots. Chris Cooley is good, Reed Doughty would be better, but Alex Ovechkin? That would be priceless.
Are you listening, man?
