DerMarr Johnson Comes Home

DerMarr Johnson, a former PG County basketball prodigy, is coming home. He was signed today by the Washington Wizards, and the hope is that he’ll add a front court scoring option behind Antawn Jamison.

The thing about DerMarr Johnson is that he’s my boy, with “my boy” loosely translating as he attended my alma mater, Parkdale High School, for a year of highlight dunks, mega media coverage, and extreme height in the hallways.

I never talked to him, I never played against him, and I never tried to stand next to him to pretend like I was with him or other members of the basketball team. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I didn’t even have enough swag to dick ride in high school.

Which in turn, made me much cooler than a lot of people.

Right?
