Daniel Cabrera’s Triple Crown of Shame

As if things couldn’t get worse for the Orioles’ noodle-armed pitcher, Daniel Cabrera is likely to win the American League’s pitching triple crown.

You know, leading the league in allowed walks, hit batters, and wild pitches.

The Twins’ three-run third was a microcosm of Cabrera’s past two months. In a 23-pitch inning, he faced eight batters, allowed a home run, walked a batter, threw a wild pitch and didn’t field his position well when he failed to complete a potential inning-ending double play by not stepping on first base.

Which raises the question, why are the Orioles allowing Daniel Cabrera to pitch anything other than a fit about being busted down to Single-A?

I wouldn’t call Cabs noodle-armed. He throws hard (he used to throw harder than he does now, admittedly). He just doesn’t know where its going when he throws it.

I hear you, but lack of velocity and control, to me, equals Spaghettios on the mound to me.
