Aubrey Huff is So Jealous Right Now
He may say he’s happy for his old mates and their surprise run to the postseason, but Aubrey Huff is mad pissed right now.
Not only did he become a statistical legend with the Tampa Bay Rays in his seven seasons with the club, but he also was forced to live in Tampa Bay, a city more known for classic episodes of C.O.P.S. and being much more of the horsesh*t variety then Baltimore could ever aspire to be.
And now, maybe for a moment, they are close to supplanting Boston as the center of the baseball universe.
It would be one thing if Huff had been signed with the New York Yankees and failed to make the post season. It would be a case of the Evil Empire falling back just for a season to lull the Tampa Bay Jedi into a false sense of entitlement and talent.
Instead, Huff is stranded on baseball’s version of Endor, along with the rest of us baseball-deprived Ewoks.
