Anybody Else Think the Terps Are Going to Blow it Against Clemson?

It’s just too perfect a storm for the Terps to be successful. They got a blowout win last week, the Clemson Tigers got a blowout win last week. The Terps were a flop through the season’s first two games, the Tigers were a flop through the first two games.

Both teams have been on a roll after a devastating out-of-conference loss, but one thing sticks out with this match-up.

The Tigers are far more dependable than the Terps in big games.

Don’t get me wrong; the Terps are known to upset big-time opponents. But not in games that the Terps must win. On the tail end of a 6-5 campaign? You can count on Friedgen and the gang to win it for you.

But in a game like this Saturday’s contest against Clemson, where an in-conference loss now could mean a must-win down the road against Virginia Tech or Boston College, the Terps are likely to fold like a wet napkin.

Losing to Clemson won’t signify the demise of the season for the Terps, but you get the sense that if they lose this game, catching up to the rest of the conference won’t be possible, let alone easy.
