Redskin Players Don’t Want it With Jim Zorn
The Washington Redskins played like crap against the Carolina Panthers last Saturday, and agree with their coach Jim Zorn that they should be punished with extra series this week against Jacksonville.
Offensive coordinator Sherman Smith said that the group has too much pride “to let that be the last taste in their mouth. I never doubted that they’d want to go back out [Thursday, in the preseason finale against Jacksonville at FedEx Field] and show what they’re about.”
Players said that Zorn has not specified how many series they can expect to play. They’ll game plan for the first two series, but if they “sustain a drive, it might be one and out.”
DC Pro Sports Report says that it serves the offense right to play extra in the preseason finale, and even offers up the feared “outclassed” chracterization for the offense. 47-3 does look pretty bad, even if it is preseason, and the fact that the players have taken a mature stance on their coach’s emotional proclamation shows that at the very least, everybody is on board together.

Hey, when you’re a rookie head coach, you gotta take some names….and make them pay.
