Adalius Thomas - Ray Lewis Rift Grows

by JC on October 24, 2007

Adalius Thomas responded to comments made by Ray Lewis earlier this week in not so uncertain terms.

“As far as calling me a coward I think that goes to something personal,” Thomas told Boston reporters today. “I don’t like it. I will address that with him personally myself. To attack my integrity and say you had to make a scheme up for me … I didn’t know they made up outside linebacker for me. I know he was crying about a big guy in the middle so you can keep blockers off of you. I mean, I don’t know if that’s a scheme made for you or not.”

This comments came after Thomas was told by reporters of Ray Lewis’ response to his quotes about “limelight seekers” in a recent Sports Illustrated article.

“When you take a shot at men that you claim to love to go to war with, I call those cowards,” Lewis said on his weekly radio show Monday. “If you got something to say privately, you don’t have to go to a newspaper. If you got something to say to a man, speak it.”

Seems that Lewis had quite a show on Monday night, but it can be argued that his sentiments about his coach and former teammate are justified. His career isn’t built on rivalries with other players, but it does seem like the fuse is getting a lot shorter these days for Inspector 52.

D-Day is set for December 3, when the New England Patriots visit the Ravens.
